And now we see another way to recycle: This is how they do it in Vermont. Local residents took recycling - and reuse - into their own hands and made it work. After I visited this recycling center, I wanted to move to Vermont. (Then I picked up a tick, and it dampened my enthusiasm.)

To start, you buy a punch card to pay for whatever you send to landfill.
